Active Travel England (ATE) acknowledges the Local Plan Scoping Consultation and has provided advice outlining its expectations for the early stages of preparing a new-style Local Plan. The advice is aligned with Government guidance on the Local Plan process and identifies the evidence needed on active travel (walking, wheeling and cycling) and public transport to support plan-making.

ATE advises that it will provide more detailed, tailored input at the Regulation 23 (Consultation on Proposed Local Plan Content and Evidence) and Regulation 27 (Consultation on the Proposed Local Plan) stages and is available to engage during the preparation of these documents where appropriate.

Overall, ATE's response directs the plan-making authorities to its guidance on incorporating active travel and public transport considerations and offers ongoing support throughout the Local Plan process.
