Having read and considered the document put forward by the Parish Council, I wish to fully endorse the reasons for their objection. Surely this is a case of a landowner wishing to make huge amounts of money (that's his prerogative) over common sense: apart from altering the existing village out of all recognition, which is totally unfair for one individual to do to all residents, there are pragmatic reasons, such as infrastructure, as well as the natural environment, which my generation must seek to protect. Visit Poringland (where we moved from) to witness how a village changes with unrestrained development.
