Representation ID: 13229

Received: 22/02/2018

Respondent: Mr Andrew Baker

Representation Summary:

1)SHC has had more than its fair share of development-3 major developments since 2015 (150+ houses).Anymore will over develop SHC.
2)Water and sewerage-infrastructure is not sufficent for more homes-Long lane with Poringland developments is regulary closed due to burst pipes and damage.
3)Road Safety-access/egress to site will be from a fast (increasingly busy road) with very limited visibility. There are regular near misses into the existing Hopkins home site.
4)Surface water runoff-site runs off (clay soil) increase of flooding to existing new homes.
5)Proposal of Long Lane park amenity is not required nor wanted by residents.

Full text:

I strongly object to the consideration of this site for development and I am supported by a number of my neighbours. Key reasons for this include;
SPECIFIC
1) Any entrance or exit to this site would be a danger to users of Long lane. There is a signifcant hill from a 60 zone with not enough visibility.
2) Sewerage and water - this will provide further impact on exisiting infrastructure which is failing regulary on long lane.
3) Impact of size, nature and scale of village. Existing developments have increased size by 100% these new developements would overpower the existing village completely. Building traffic, noise, safety when taken together has been ongoing for many years.
4) Surface water run off - existing developments (Hopkins Phase 50 houses) immediately adjacent would be affected by faster surface water run off from this site. This is significant during wet periods.
5) Stoke does not need a Long Lane park - green spaces provided by exisiting developments are sufficent and a well equipped park that is underutilised. Long Lane park would be detrimental to existing residents as it would attract more traffic and woudl provide little amenity.

GENERAL
1) Stoke Holy Cross has seen an extensive amount of development in the past 5-10 years and the impact of the current developments fro Hopkins phase 1 & 2 and salamanca sites.
2) Water and sewerage - Long Lane is closed on regular basis due to broken pipes and swerage issues.
3) Traffic has increased on Long Lane the potential access points are on a fast stretch of the Long Lane road.
