Site Proposals document

Representation ID: 13792

Received: 11/03/2018

Respondent: Mr Adrian Weller

Representation Summary:

This is a conservation area adjoining a Grade II listed property, how can you possibly justify the creation of new housing in this area? The surrounding roads and infrastructure are very rural and cannot possibly cope or sustain such a development, the proposed area is entirely unsuitable for such purpose. What a travesty it would be to develop such land when we are constantly reminded of the importance of maintaining listed buildings close to their original appearance and environment, there is no justification for such a development when there are many far more suitable sites available.

This is a conservation area and I live with my family in a Grade II listed property that adjoins this farming land, how can you possibly justify the creation of new housing in this area? The surrounding roads and infrastructure are very rural and cannot possibly cope or sustain such a development, the area is entirely unsuitable for such purpose. This is a very rural community with many properties like ours that date back to the 1700's and yet you propose to build new housing next door??, what a travesty that would be when we are constantly reminded of the importance of keeping listed buildings as close to their original appearance and environment as possible, this site is entirely inappropriate and unsuitable for such a development and would be to the detriment of the local area and the historical nature of the buildings within it. There is no justification for such a development when there are many far more suitable sites available.
